Day of Service & Celebration: Genealogy Workshop

Following a morning of volunteer service, the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society will offer a free workshop on interpreting symbols and objects as part of genealogy research. Activities will include a drum performance, introduction to AAHGS, a reading, and presentation of symbols. There will then be a tour to view 15 grave sites, exploring symbols used at those sites.

Schedule:
9:00-10:30am: Volunteer morning (brush clearing, grave identification)
10:30-12:30am: Genealogy workshop, hosted by the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society
