Richmond Dog Festival
The Richmond Dog Festival returns for 2019, this time at a new location!
Join us on Saturday, September 21st in Church Hill’s Chimborazo Park from 11 AM to 4 PM for a celebration of dogs, dog owners, and dog lovers. This event brings together a network of vendors who serve the dog community in Richmond, such as trainers, dog sitters, rescue leagues, dog treat makers, etc. There will be craft beer, live music, demonstration seminars, and food trucks!
The Richmond Dog Festival enacts the Enrichmond Foundation’s mission of serving Richmond’s people, parks and public spaces. Dogs are of course welcome to attend. Your four-legged friends must be socialized and leashed.
Triple Crossing Beer is our beer partner! They will have the following craft beers on tap:
Falcon Smash IPA
Interstellar Burst DIPA
Tiny Pils Pilsner
Entry Fee:
Suggested $1 donation. Donations at the entrance and led by the “bucket brigade” will go to our Partner, Friends of Chimborazo Park, to help clean up and maintain the Chimborazo Dog Park.
Enrichmond is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Your attendance supports Enrichmond’s mission to enhance Richmond parks and activate its public spaces.
Other info:
Feel free to bring lawn chairs – we’ll have live music and tents to kick back under.
This is a rain or shine event!

At this year’s Dog Festival, we are hosting a storytelling event! Please read the prompt below and enter your story for a chance to tell it at the festival.
Richmond Dog Festival Storytelling Prompt
“Everyone thinks they have the best dog. And none of them are wrong.” – W.R. Purche
The Richmond Dog Festival is seeking stories of why you love your dog and why your dog loves you. Moments of hilarity, of companionship, of triumph, of loss; we owe it to our pups to share stories of how they’ve made our lives better.
Rules of the telling:
- All stories must be true, they must be your own, and they must be memorized.
- You will have five minutes to tell your story. After five minutes, the emcee will ring a bell signifying the end of your time on stage.
To be considered as a teller at the Richmond Dog Festival, please submit a brief story synopsis and a bit about yourself along with a photo of the dog in your story, in the form below.
Ten stories will be chosen for a live telling at the Richmond Dog Festival on Saturday, September 21st at Chimborazo Park. Chosen storytellers will be notified by September 9th.
A number of submitted stories and photos will be featured on the Richmond Dog Festival’s social media accounts leading up to the festival. These posts will build awareness for the live telling while creating more opportunities to share stories amongst the dog loving community.
By submitting a story and photo of your dog, you give the Enrichmond Foundation permission to post your story and photo on the Richmond Dog Festival’s social media account for purposes of event advertisement.
If you have questions, please reach out to events@enrichmond.org.
