Birdhouse Farmers Market
Birdhouse Farmers Market is a friendly, open-air, all-weather, mid-week, food-focused farmers market in the Randolph neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia. BFM is committed to helping local farmers and food providers connect directly to their local customers. Equally, we are dedicated to providing access to fresh, locally grown and/or produced foods to Richmond families, to educate them about nutrition, and to foster a sense of community among people from diverse backgrounds.
Born as a project of the William Byrd Community House in 2007 and based in the Oregon Hill neighborhood, the Byrd House Market was the second market to open in Richmond, after the 17th Street Market and the only one to stay located in the urban center. In 2016 we became a proud partner of the Enrichmond Foundation, our name was changed, to Birdhouse Farmers Market, and we moved a few blocks west, to the Randolph / West End neighborhood in cooperation with the Randolph Community Center, and historic Second Baptist Church. We are considered a family-friendly market and have weekly activities for children of all ages. The market is proud to offer a matching dollar program for SNAP/EBT users. Please come join us any or every Tuesday from May through November 3:00-6:30 pm.
