Eagle Scout East End Cemetery Project
The East End Eagle Project is dedicated to providing the Veterans buried at the East End with sturdy, permanent flag holders to honor their service to our country. At present, the flags for the Veterans are placed directly in the ground, where they break, fall over, or are damaged by landscaping equipment. This project’s significance extends to Boy Scouts as well, as it is Colby Taylor’s Eagle Project. Honoring our Veterans is very important to him. The Veterans buried here are from a multitude of wartime eras. Colby chose to help the East End Cemetery because he thinks the people buried there deserve to be allotted the same respect and care as those buried in cemeteries that have received dedicated funding since their inception.
Colby’s goal is to make and install a flag holder at the grave of every Veteran buried at the East End Cemetery by Memorial Day 2020.
