Friends of Sydney Park

Sydney Park, located at the intersections of Brunswick, Morris, and Floyd Avenue, in Richmond’s historic Fan District, has the reputation of being the smallest park in the City’s park system. Triangular in shape, Sydney Park is only 60 feet by about 160 feet long. As an urban greenspace community gathering area, children from VCU’s day care center explore the park looking for bugs as a learning exercise, enjoy snacks in the sun, and play. Neighborhood moms sit on the benches enjoying a cup of coffee and each other’s company, while keeping an eye on their toddlers. Sometimes guitarists practice, bicycle tours take a break, and, occasionally, you will even find folks playing bocce here!
