Join Shockoe Bottom’s Backyard Barbecue: Volunteer!

Published on July 7th, 2017 by Erin Jenkins

BrewBQ is August 20th, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, at a new location: 1615 East Broad St, Richmond, VA 23220, due to construction in Shockoe Bottom.
We’re looking for BrewBQ and Green Team members to make up our dynamic volunteer team.
Did you know that BrewBQ is actually a major fundraising event for the Enrichmond Foundation? Your volunteer shift means that we can fulfill our mission for our partners and our community.

How can you help?

Green Team-
Volunteers will help participants recycle and divert waste effectively at the festival. Green Team Volunteers monitor “eco-stations” throughout and make sure that recycling and trash are done right! Volunteers are equipped with gloves and long-handled “pickers,” and should be physically able to do a good bit of walking and a little lifting/changing of container liners. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for walking.
Green Team Shifts: 10:00 am-2:00 pm or 1:30 pm-5:30 pm.

Brew Crew-
These team members serve a critical volunteer role. Brew Crew volunteers help set up prior to gates opening, check wristbands and tickets for beer and wine customers, help pour beer and wine, and will aid in the breakdown of the event. Bring your sunscreen, bring your ID – if you don’t you cannot volunteer.
Brew Crew Shifts: 10:00 am-2:00 pm or 1:30 pm-5:30 pm.
